NIS America has announced that The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince will launch on Steam on March 11, 2026. Originally released worldwide on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in 2019, the dark fairytale platformer is finally making its way to PC, giving a new audience the chance to experience its haunting storybook adventure.
A new trailer celebrating the Steam release highlights the game’s hand-drawn aesthetic and emotional narrative, inviting players to add it to their wishlists ahead of launch.
A Fairytale of Love and Loss
The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince tells the story of a lonely wolf whose beautiful singing voice draws the attention of a curious prince. A tragic misunderstanding leaves the prince blinded, and the wolf, overcome with guilt, assumes the form of a princess to guide him through a perilous forest in search of a witch who can restore his sight.
Players alternate between the wolf and princess forms throughout the journey. In wolf form, you can use brute strength to defeat hostile creatures and overcome physical obstacles. As the princess, you must carefully guide the blind prince through dangerous terrain, ensuring his safety from traps and environmental hazards that could end the journey prematurely.
Strength, Wit, and Storybook Presentation
The forest is filled with deadly creatures, hidden traps, and environmental puzzles that require careful coordination between the two forms. Some challenges demand the wolf’s power, while others rely on the princess’s finesse and problem-solving.
Scattered throughout the world are collectible memory fragments, “lost pages,” that gradually reveal more about the relationship between the wolf and the prince. These story elements deepen the emotional impact of the adventure by blending platformer gameplay with a poignant narrative about sacrifice, identity, and love.
PC players can step into this tragic yet hopeful journey when it arrives on Steam on March 11.
