Adventure Works has announced that Lifted will launch for PC via Steam on July 22, 2026. The release date was revealed during The MIX Summer Game Showcase, alongside a new trailer highlighting the game’s updated visuals and cinematic adventure.
PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are also in development and will launch at a later date.
A New Adventure From a Former Disney Imagineer
Lifted is the debut game from Adventure Works, founded by former Disney Imagineer Jeffrey Ashbrook, whose credits include work on attractions such as Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
The game follows student Ari Buktu and Professor Lionel Raventhorpe as they embark on a journey through time and space in search of a legendary tiara. The treasure hunt is driven by Raventhorpe’s desire to find the perfect gift for his longtime love, Miss Barton.
Inspired by Classic Adventure Films
Drawing inspiration from family-friendly adventure movies of the 1980s, Lifted sends players across a variety of historical locations, including 1818 Egypt and ancient Mayan civilizations.
Players will solve puzzles, navigate platforming challenges, and avoid historical troublemakers as they progress through a story centered on friendship, imagination, and humor.
Updated Visuals Revealed
The latest trailer showcases a visual overhaul designed to bring greater detail and expression to the game’s characters and environments. The game’s narrative was written by Austin Film Festival award winner Nick Gambino, with Adventure Works aiming to deliver an experience that captures the wonder of classic adventure stories without relying on combat or violence.
“LIFTED is the closest I’ve gotten to making one,” Ashbrook said of creating the kind of adventure he loved growing up. “I wanted it to be a game kids could love on their own, and that parents could hand to them feeling like they were passing along a little of what they grew up on.”
Lifted launches July 22, 2026, on PC via Steam, with PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 versions planned for a later date. The game will support 12 languages at launch.
