Call of Juarez: The Cartel Goes Into The Modern Wild West

Ubisoft today has announced the next installment of the Call of Juarez franchise, The Cartel, taking place in the modern day wild west scheduled for a Summer 2011 release on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. Previously, its predecessor Bound in Blood centered around a traditional western theme.

The Cartel will take places throughout present day crime locations such as my hometown Los Angeles, California to Juarez, Mexico. The setting implies that it will deal with real life gang violence happening in Juarez, either way, developer Techland should treat the depiction of the subject matter carefully. Call of Juarez: The Cartel will be the featured cover story in the March 2011 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly.
