Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo Brings Trauma-Healing Puzzle Adventure to Steam This September

The debut game from indie developer Dank Hearts and publisher WhisperGames, Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo, will officially release on September 17, 2025, for PC via Steam. The narrative-heavy puzzle adventure blends psychological introspection with escape room gameplay across a hauntingly warped city built from memories and unresolved trauma.

A City Formed from Sorrow

Set in Noise Scramble City, a surreal Tokyo-like labyrinth, Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo begins as six teenagers awaken without memory of how they arrived. The city is more than a prison — it’s a manifestation of pain, fear, and forgotten wounds. To escape, each character must solve puzzles tied to deeply personal trauma, confronting emotional scars they’ve long buried.

Players will guide each teen through their own storyline, each packed with symbolism, introspection, and hard-earned catharsis. It’s part visual novel, part puzzle game, and wholly about healing through truth.

A Journey Through Memory, Guilt, and Hope

Drawing on the stylistic storytelling of classic JRPGs and emotional anime like Serial Experiments Lain or Persona, Type-NOISE is less about escaping a city and more about escaping the lies we tell ourselves. Each puzzle reveals a little more about the characters’ lives and the healing they may or may not find by journey’s end.

Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo is playable in demo form now, and the official Discord community is open for those eager to dive into the game’s themes ahead of launch.
