During the MIX Fall Showcase, Thunderful and To The Sky revealed a brand-new action trailer for their upcoming co-op hack’n’slash, Godbreakers. Set to launch in 2025 on PC and PlayStation 5, the trailer highlights the game’s frenetic action, massive boss battles, and its defining “Godbreak” mechanic, which lets players absorb powers from enemies and unleash them in devastating counterattacks.
The trailer shows how players, acting as vessels of humanity, take on the Monad, an unbound artificial intelligence, across surreal landscapes while stealing abilities, chaining combos, and working together to survive increasingly chaotic encounters.
Power-Stealing Combat for One to Four Players
At its core, Godbreakers is about taking your enemy’s strength and turning it against them. Every battle is a chance to charge energy, cancel actions mid-flow, and unleash a Godbreak, a devastating counterstrike fueled by stolen power.
Players can fight alone or team up in four-player online co-op, coordinating attacks to topple bosses and experiment with unique ability builds. Each run offers a chance to refine your playstyle, unlock new weapons, and discover different Archetypes—playable variations with distinct strengths and traits.
Boss Battles, Biomes, and Builds
The trailer also highlights the variety awaiting players:
- Epic Boss Fights – Multi-phase encounters with evolving attack patterns that demand precision, coordination, and adaptability.
- Six Surreal Biomes – Environments ranging from alien vistas to perilous hazards, each introducing fresh challenges and enemies.
- Fluid Combat – Cancel moves in real-time, chain dashes, strikes, and abilities into stylish combos.
- Build Experimentation – Mix and match abilities to forge unique playstyles, with each Archetype adding new combat depth.
Every biome promises something new—whether that’s a deadly arena hazard, a new boss personality, or an ability that reshapes your strategy.
