Control Resonant is set to make its next big appearance at gamescom latam, where Remedy Entertainment will host a special fireside chat focused on the upcoming sequel to Control.
The event will feature Mikael Kasurinen, Remedy’s Co-Creative Director and the creative lead on Control Resonant, and is scheduled for Friday, May 1, at 5 PM Brazil time. According to Remedy, the session will reveal new details and features for the game as anticipation builds toward its 2026 launch.
Remedy is using gamescom latam to spotlight Control Resonant
For a game like Control Resonant, this kind of event makes sense. Remedy is not just confirming another trailer drop or a short appearance during a larger showcase. It is giving the sequel a dedicated conversation on the main stage, suggesting the studio is ready to talk more seriously about what this follow-up actually is.
Fans who cannot attend in person will still be able to watch the session through gamescom latam’s YouTube and Twitch channels, making this one of the next major dates to watch for anyone following the game.
Dylan Faden takes the lead in a warped Manhattan
Remedy also shared a fresh setup for Control Resonant, confirming that players will step into the role of Dylan Faden this time around. The game is set in a distorted version of Manhattan on the edge of a paranatural collapse, with Dylan fighting to preserve both his humanity and his survival against a cosmic threat warping reality around him.
That is a notable shift. The first Control built its identity around Jesse Faden and the strange, shifting halls of the Federal Bureau of Control. Control Resonant seems to keep the same supernatural tone while pushing the scale outward into a more open, unstable setting.
The mention of a “warped Manhattan” also aligns with Remedy calling the game an open-ended action-adventure RPG, suggesting a broader structure than the first game’s more focused progression.
Remedy and Annapurna are working together on the sequel
Remedy confirmed that Control Resonant will be published by Remedy Entertainment, while Annapurna Pictures will co-finance and co-produce the game as part of the strategic partnership between the two companies.
That partnership has been one of the more interesting business developments around Remedy’s future projects, and it gives Control Resonant a little more weight as one of the studio’s major next releases.
More fan events are planned around the showcase
After the fireside chat, Remedy says the team will host a fan meet-and-greet with giveaways, and more fan activities are planned for Saturday, May 2 as well.
That is not the main story here, but it does show Remedy is treating Control Resonant as a bigger event presence rather than a simple stage appearance.
Control Resonant launches in 2026
Control Resonant is currently scheduled to release in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Mac via Steam and the App Store, and GeForce Now.
For now, the biggest date to watch is May 1, when Remedy is expected to finally share more concrete details about what this sequel is doing differently.
