Until Then Announces Afterimages DLC and Xbox Series X|S Release for 2026

Maximum Entertainment and developer Polychroma Games have revealed Afterimages, a brand-new downloadable expansion for the award-winning narrative adventure Until Then. The DLC is scheduled to arrive later this year and will launch alongside the game’s debut on Xbox Series X|S.

A newly released trailer offers a first glimpse at the emotional continuation of Sofia and Mark’s intertwined stories, expanding on the themes of memory, grief, and personal growth that defined the base game.

Two New Chapters Exploring Life After Loss

Afterimages introduces two narrative chapters that delve into the quiet persistence of life following absence. Sofia returns home to confront unresolved memories, while Mark navigates complicated emotions sparked by a new romantic connection and the reappearance of an old friend. Though their journeys unfold separately, both characters must wrestle with how to move forward while carrying the weight of what they’ve lost.

The expansion weaves fresh gameplay elements into the intimate storytelling experience. New interactive activities include tarot reading sessions and baking minigames, alongside expanded in-game phone features, including dating apps and video platforms. These additions build on the modern, slice-of-life structure that made the original release resonate so strongly with players.

Expanding an Acclaimed Narrative Experience

Since its launch, Until Then has earned widespread praise for its heartfelt writing, distinctive visual presentation, and authentic portrayal of adolescence and memory. The game currently holds a 97% “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam, reflecting strong player reception.

With the Afterimages DLC and the upcoming Xbox Series X|S release, more players will soon be able to experience its emotionally grounded storytelling. Additional details, including the official release date for the expansion, are expected in the coming months.
