Maximum Entertainment has partnered with CMD Studios to bring Fallen Tear: The Ascension to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
The hand-drawn search-action RPG is available now on PC via Steam and follows Hira, a mysterious child caught in a conflict with ancient gods.
Recruit Allies to Change How You Explore
Fallen Tear: The Ascension takes place in the high-fantasy setting of Raoah and mixes exploration with party-building and action combat.
Its Fated Bonds system lets Hira recruit allies who provide their own combat and traversal abilities. Different companions can change which areas and routes players can access.
The game features 22 potential companions, each with their own abilities and story.
Parry, Dodge, and Customize Hira
Combat lets players slash, parry, and dodge against Raoah’s guardians.
Skill trees add customization, and players can adjust their loadouts and tactics during battles.
The game combines its hand-drawn presentation with professional voice acting across an interconnected map.
Build the Temple of Oras
Between expeditions, players return to the Temple of Oras, Hira’s home base.
Players can customize the temple and populate it with recruited companions. Minigames tied to Hira’s progress also provide upgrades.
The companion system ties character recruitment directly to combat, exploration, and home-base development.
