Remedy Entertainment revealed a new developer diary for Control Resonant during gamescom LATAM, offering a closer look at the sequel’s warped version of Manhattan. The video goes behind the scenes with the development team as they discuss moving the series beyond the Oldest House.
Control Resonant is scheduled to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Mac via Steam and the App Store, and GeForce NOW.
Manhattan Becomes a Paranatural Playground
In Control Resonant, players explore multiple areas of Manhattan as a cosmic force reshapes the city. Remedy describes the setting as an expansive, reality-warping space where gravity, natural law, and the environment itself are distorted.
The sequel follows Dylan Faden, whose troubled psyche connects to a metaphysical space beyond the material world. Players will travel through perception-bending locations while unlocking and shaping Dylan’s abilities through a deeper progression system.
New Combat and Powers Detailed
The developer diary also outlines more of the game’s action systems. Dylan can use elemental abilities, environmental interactions, and a shapeshifting melee weapon called the Aberrant to face shifting threats throughout Manhattan.
Remedy will publish Control Resonant, with Annapurna Pictures co-financing and co-producing the game through its partnership with the studio.
