tinyBuild and developer Mandragora revealed a new gameplay trailer for ReStory during the Indie Live Expo showcase, offering another look at the upcoming Y2K-era electronics repair simulator.
The latest footage highlights the game’s retro-inspired setting and repair mechanics as players restore aging technology while uncovering stories tied to their customers.
Running a Repair Shop in Y2K-Era Japan
Set in early-2000s Japan, ReStory places players in charge of a small electronics repair shop where old devices get a second life. Players will restore a range of technology, including retro game consoles, handheld systems, licensed Atari hardware, cameras, home appliances, and cellphones.
Beyond repairing devices, the game also introduces a branching narrative system. Customer interactions and players’ choices during conversations can influence how events unfold throughout the story.
Playtest Available Ahead of Launch
The new trailer arrives as tinyBuild prepares for BitSummit in Kyoto, where Japanese-language demos of several games from its lineup are being shown, including ReStory.
ReStory is currently planned for release on Steam in 2026. Players can also sign up for the game’s first playtest and wishlist it on Steam now.
