Final Fantasy VII Revelation Trailer Unveils the Last Remake Entry

To close out this year’s Summer Game Fest Showcase, Square Enix finally showed off the final entry in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy — Final Fantasy VII Revelation.

Plenty of the original game’s later story beats, such as the emergence of the fearsome Weapons and the party’s adventure in Wutai, are seen throughout the trailer, giving us a glimpse of these sections in all their new and remade glory. Though a specific release date wasn’t provided, the game is set to drop on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC in spring 2027.

In addition to the reveal trailer, viewers were treated to an extended look at the gameplay of the final instalment, which includes both Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind as playable characters. If that wasn’t enough for you, we get to see how the party can freely parachute out of the Highwind airship at their leisure, and a peek at the new FITS system is given. This provides the playable characters with snazzy new outfits that grant them different movesets based on some of Final Fantasy‘s iconic jobs.

You can take a gander at that below:

What is Final Fantasy VII Revelation about?

“Cloud Strife and his loyal companions face a world that teeters on the brink of annihilation,” reads the official story synopsis. “Grieving a beloved ally, and with their nemesis Sephiroth nearing godhood, the party takes to the skies aboard the airship Highwind in a race against time to stop Meteor, the ultimate destructive magic, and the total obliteration of the planet.”
