Atlus has announced that its award-winning fantasy RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026.
The announcement was made during the latest Nintendo Direct, with Atlus also confirming a limited-time Steelbook Edition that will be available at launch.
One of 2024’s Most Acclaimed RPGs
Developed by Studio Zero, Metaphor: ReFantazio became a major success when it launched in 2024, selling more than one million copies on its first day and becoming Atlus’ fastest-selling game to date.
The title earned widespread critical praise, achieving a 94 Metacritic score and winning Best Role-Playing Game, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction at The Game Awards 2024.
A Fantasy Kingdom on the Brink
Set in a sprawling fantasy world, Metaphor: ReFantazio follows a journey through a kingdom facing political turmoil and uncertainty.
Players must build relationships with allies, overcome dangerous challenges, and navigate a land filled with mystery as they compete for the throne and attempt to shape the future of the kingdom.
The game blends traditional role-playing mechanics with social systems and strategic turn-based combat, all wrapped in the distinctive visual style fans have come to expect from Atlus.
Switch 2 Release Arrives This Fall
The Nintendo Switch 2 version launches on November 12, 2026, giving Nintendo players their first opportunity to experience the acclaimed RPG on a Nintendo platform.
A special Steelbook Edition will also be available for a limited time at launch.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and PC via Steam.
