Arc Games and Thekla have announced Order of the Sinking Star for PlayStation 5. The puzzle adventure from Jonathan Blow, director of Braid and The Witness, will launch later this year.
A new PlayStation 5 trailer shows more of the game’s linked puzzle systems, including late-game sections where characters, mechanics, and areas start crossing over in new ways.
Four Areas, One Larger Puzzle
Order of the Sinking Star sends players through four distinct areas, each with its own story, characters, rules, and puzzle logic.
As players progress, those systems begin to interact. Mechanics from one area can change how another works, building toward more complex challenges across the game’s later sections.
Over One Thousand Hand-Crafted Puzzles
Thekla says Order of the Sinking Star will feature over 1,000 hand-crafted puzzles. Players can explore at their own pace, leave challenges behind, and return later with a better understanding of the game’s systems.
Playable characters include a queen, thief, warrior, wizard, and talking boat, each bringing different abilities to the larger puzzle structure.
Steam Demo Progress Carries Over
Order of the Sinking Star was one of the most-played demos during June’s Steam Next Fest. The demo remains available now on Steam, and progress will carry over to the full game at launch.
The game is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam with Steam Deck support. A release date will be announced later.
