NetEase has announced that Where Winds Meet will launch its Hidden Mountain Expansion on July 23 UTC, kicking off what the team is calling Where Winds Meet 2.0.
The update adds a new “Eastern Steampunk” region built around Mohist machinery, vertical exploration, custom vehicles, new combat options, bosses, and major visual and audio upgrades.
Enter Hidden Mountain
Hidden Mountain is built as a layered region with underwater areas, underground palaces, mountain peaks, and floating sky cities.
The area centers on the Mohist sect, a group known for ancient engineering. Their presence turns the mountain into a giant mechanism filled with devices, puzzles, and machinery.
Players can move through the region using Lightness Skill, climbing, gliding, and new mechanical vehicles. Caves, cliffs, waterfall paths, and high-altitude areas will all play into the expansion’s vertical design.
Build Your Own Machines
The expansion adds mechanical crafting and custom vehicle assembly.
Players can combine components to create contraptions, solve puzzles, and build new routes through Hidden Mountain. This ties into the new Mohist Hill Sect, the game’s first building-focused sect, which gives players buffs tied to construction and mechanical crafting.
New Combat and Bosses
Hidden Mountain also adds the Gauntlet Discipline, a close-range fighting style built around fast combos and burst damage.
New bosses will lean into mechanical and clockwork designs. Some fights will ask players to solve environmental mechanism puzzles during combat, while others will test timing against aggressive attacks or poison-based strikes.
Where Winds Meet 2.0 Upgrades
The Hidden Mountain Expansion also brings technical upgrades to Where Winds Meet.
The update includes improved wind dynamics, layered canyon audio, updated rock textures, new lighting work, and ray-tracing support designed around the mountain’s scale and elevation.
