Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 29 at 9 a.m. PT for $29.99, with full cross-play support. The announcement accompanies Patch 4, which adds rebuilt fighters, revised ranked play, and changes across the roster.
Existing Nintendo Switch owners will receive a free Switch 2 upgrade, though it’s listed as coming soon.
Avatar State Aang and Nightmare Korra Get Rebuilt
Patch 4 redraws Avatar State Aang and Nightmare Korra from the ground up, adding attacks and new super techniques. Every character also receives balance adjustments.
The update redesigns menus, character and stage selection, and the in-match HUD. Avatar Road and Air Temple Island are now playable outside Story Mode, and players can select music directly from stage select.
Ranked Mode 2.0 Adds Spectating
Ranked Mode 2.0 introduces a rebuilt competitive ladder and spectating. Players looking to practice can use new tutorials, Combo Trials, and expanded Training Mode options.
Single-player additions include Story Mode+, expanded Arcade content, and Story Mode difficulty settings. Beginner-friendly lobbies and Gallery improvements round out the update.
Weekly Tournaments Offer $5,000 Prize Pools
Gameplay Group International has also partnered with Tampa Never Sleeps for weekly online Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game tournaments. Each tournament will feature Fighting Game Community personalities as hosts and a $5,000 prize pool.
Patch 4 is available now, with the Switch 2 version following on October 29.
