Probably Stolen is available now on Steam for $19.99, with a 10% launch discount for two weeks. Developed by Questing Goose Studio and published by tinyBuild, the pixel-art roguelike shop simulator puts you behind the counter on a space station where suspicious customers and rising rent threaten your business.
Pick Your Trade and Your Trouble
Starting options include gunsmith, chemist, water merchant, fence, and farmer, with each business bringing different expenses and risks. Weapons attract inspections, contraband can trigger raids, and some trades require machinery or permits.
Buying stock means assessing its condition and deciding how much risk you can afford. Selling contaminated goods can damage your reputation and drive customers away, while cutting product quality might improve your margins but draw unwanted attention.
Watch Who Walks Through the Door
Customers can include undercover security, wanted criminals, revolutionaries, and rogue AI-augmented impostors. You can report criminals for credits and favors, or look the other way; faction relationships can also grant access to exclusive deals.
Rent keeps rising regardless of your profits. Falling behind pressures you to take bigger risks, but a bad purchase or security bust can end your business.
More Scenarios and Story Content Planned
According to tinyBuild, Probably Stolen’s Steam Next Fest demo attracted more than 660,000 players and peaked at nearly 40,000 concurrent players. The game also accumulated more than 500,000 wishlists ahead of launch.
The developers plan to add new starting scenarios and extend the main story in future updates.
