LifeLine Games and Dear Villagers have announced that Deer & Boy will launch on June 23, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S.
The cinematic platformer will be available for $19.99, €19.99, and £17.99, with a 10% launch discount during its first week. A new gameplay trailer for the game premiered during the Wholesome Games Showcase.
A Boy, a Fawn, and an Emotional Journey
First revealed during Summer Game Fest 2024, Deer & Boy follows a young boy who runs away from home and becomes lost in the wilderness.
There, he meets a frightened fawn. The two gradually form a bond, relying on each other as they face danger, grief, and the unknown.
LifeLine Games describes the story as a poetic friendship between two vulnerable characters who help each other move forward.
Cinematic Platforming With a Quiet Tone
Deer & Boy blends platforming, environmental storytelling, and cinematic presentation.
The new trailer shows more of the pair’s journey, including traversal, emotional story moments, and the evolving relationship between the boy and deer.
Game Director Jayson Houdet thanked players for the support shown since the game’s reveal, saying the team is working to deliver something meaningful.
