The King of Kaiju Brawlers Returns

Originally released in 2002, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee let players battle through destructible city arenas as some of Toho’s most iconic monsters.

The remastered version brings back the 4-player arena brawling, giving players control of kaiju, including Showa-era Mechagodzilla. Battles take place across destructible cities such as Tokyo and San Francisco, where players can smash skyscrapers, throw buildings, and fight rival monsters amid collapsing streets.

Rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered has been rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5.

Atari says the new version features 4K performance while retaining 99% mechanical fidelity to the original. The remaster also adds online matchmaking, modern haptics, and a streamlined currency-based unlock system.

Pipeworks CEO Lindsay Gupton said the team used modern tools to revisit the original game and create a version that more closely aligns with its intended vision.
