Arc Games and Thekla have announced that Order of the Sinking Star will receive its first playable demo during Steam Next Fest: June Edition.
The limited-time demo will be available on Steam from June 15 at 10 a.m. PT through June 22 at 10 a.m. PT.
Jonathan Blow’s Next Puzzle Adventure
Order of the Sinking Star is the next major project from Jonathan Blow, the designer behind Braid and The Witness.
The game is a massive narrative puzzle adventure with more than 1,000 handcrafted puzzles spread across four distinct worlds. Each world features its own mechanics, characters, dangers, and stories.
As the worlds begin to merge, their puzzle systems connect in new ways, creating challenges that build on what players have learned.
What to Expect From the Demo
The Steam Next Fest demo will offer a meaningful slice of the full game, giving players a look at its atmospheric exploration, puzzle structure, and larger mystery.
Thekla notes that the game is still in active development, so the demo will include English voice-over narration only and may feature minor bugs or glitches.
Jonathan Blow also hosted a demo preview livestream on Twitch yesterday. A VOD will be shared afterward through the game’s official channels.
Four Worlds and Unlikely Heroes
Players will explore at their own pace, returning to puzzles and areas as they see fit.
The game features multiple playable characters, including a queen, a thief, a warrior, a wizard, and a talking boat. Each character brings different abilities that help solve puzzles and reveal more of the story.
Coming to PC and Switch 2
Order of the Sinking Star is in development for PC and Nintendo Switch 2, with a planned 2026 launch.
The demo will be available during Steam Next Fest from June 15-22.
