Capcom has announced that Onimusha: Way of the Sword will now launch on September 4, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.
The new date moves the game up by several weeks, shortening the wait for the long-awaited return of the Onimusha series.

Pre-Orders Are Live
Pre-orders are now available for the Standard, Deluxe, and Premium Deluxe editions. Players who purchase any edition before September 24 will receive Early Adopter Bonuses, though Capcom directs fans to the official website for the full breakdown of rewards.

Demo Bonus Confirmed
A free demo for Onimusha: Way of the Sword is also available now on PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
The demo offers an early look at the game’s swordplay and opening action. Players with demo save data will receive the Kubi Akari charm as a bonus when the full game launches.
