Grove Street Games has announced that BeastLink will launch into Steam Early Access on August 18. The studio’s first new IP in over a decade will be available for $19.99, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions planned later.
A new release date trailer gives players a look at the game’s mix of human-led missions, vehicle combat, monster battles, and city-wide destruction.
Humans, Vehicles, and Kaiju
BeastLink drops players into large urban maps under attack from Kaiju. Before becoming the monster, players move through collapsing city streets on foot or in vehicles while fighting human forces and roaming beasts.
Resources gathered during missions fuel the experimental process that lets players Link with sleeping Kaiju. Once that happens, the game shifts from tactical survival to full-scale monster combat.
Four Kaiju at Early Access Launch
BeastLink will launch with four playable Kaiju: Horned Lizard, Mandrill, Bull Shark, and Vampire Bat.
Each beast has its own combat style, covering brute strength, aerial attacks, speed, and different movement options. That should change how players approach each match and how they tear through the city.
SuperDestruction Powers the Mayhem
Built in Unreal Engine 5, BeastLink uses Grove Street’s proprietary SuperDestruction system.
The system supports more than 250,000 destructible objects and tens of millions of smaller pieces. Players can break apart city blocks as humans or Kaiju, turning buildings, streets, and cover into tactical wreckage.
