Wired Productions and Glee-Cheese have announced Mr. Records for Nintendo Switch 2, with the reveal arriving during the Future Games Show at Gamescom.
The announcement also included a new gameplay trailer introducing George, his record shop, and the game’s rhythm-adventure loop.
George Opens His Dream Shop
Mr. Records follows George, an older dreamer with a gift that lets him move through music.
After years of routine, George opens the record shop he always wanted. From there, players find records, play through rhythm stages inspired by each track, and return to the shop to sell music to customers looking for the right album.
Money earned at the shop helps expand George’s collection, open new story chapters, and keep the business growing.
Rhythm Stages Built Around Records
Each record becomes a playable rhythm stage shaped by George’s memories and emotions.
Players will run, jump, slide, dodge, and chain timed actions across more than 40 handcrafted levels. The game also adds rhythm battles, surreal mini-games, chase sequences, visual shifts, and side activities with George’s dog, Buzz.
Customers, Stories, and Music
The shop side of Mr. Records centers on learning records and matching them with customers.
Players will meet oddball visitors, solve musical riddles, open new stock, and piece together George’s past through songs, photos, notes, and quiet moments in his bedroom above the shop.
The soundtrack covers funk, progressive rock, hip-hop, electro, global music, and 80s pop, with original tracks composed by the developers.
