Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance Trailer Reveals Skybound Eyrie

Capcom showed a new Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance trailer during PlayStation’s State of Play, giving players a closer look at the expansion’s story, monsters, locale, and mechanics.

The expansion launches in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Lao-Shan Lung Threatens the Forbidden Lands

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance takes place after the main story of Monster Hunter Wilds.

The Forbidden Lands Expedition Team comes under attack from Lao-Shan Lung, a colossal Elder Dragon whose arrival leaves major destruction behind. That disaster leads to the construction of Madoi Stronghold, built to prepare for Lao-Shan Lung’s eventual return.

As the stronghold takes shape, the mists above Wyveria begin to clear, revealing the Skybound Eyrie.
