Lofty Sky Games has announced that Hope in the City launches on November 10, 2026, for Xbox and PC via Steam.
The release date was revealed during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 showcase alongside a new trailer focused on the narrative mystery and its investigation systems.
Hope Takes the Investigation Into Her Own Hands
Hope in the City follows 17-year-old Hope Song after she returns home to find her parents missing.
Rather than waiting for answers, Hope begins investigating their disappearance herself across the streets of Shenyang, China.
Players gather clues, record observations in her notebook, and connect information through sketches that can lead to new breakthroughs.
Build Thoughts From Clues
The investigation system centers on Hope’s sketchbook.
Players can turn observations into ideas before connecting them into larger conclusions that move the case forward.
Players can pursue leads in different orders, giving them some control over how they investigate the disappearance.
Story cutscenes trigger as players make progress, tying narrative scenes directly to solved parts of the case.
Demo Available Now
A Hope in the City demo is currently available on Steam.
Tokyo Game Show attendees can also play the demo at the Ukiyo Game Bar & Cafe near Tokyo Station during the event.
The game has previously appeared at events including Future Games Show Live, Women-Led Games, Game Devs of Color, and The Indie Premiere.
