Seasons of Books and Keys has released a Steam demo featuring its complete first chapter, “913.” Publisher Shueisha Games and developer iMel’s adventure adapts Honobu Yonezawa’s novel, combining reading, voiced performances, and interactive mystery-solving.
The demo introduces students Jiro Horikawa and Shimon Matsukura as a quiet afternoon in their school library turns into an investigation of a locked safe.
Solve the Mystery of a Grandfather’s Safe
Upperclassman Mari Urakami asks the pair to open a safe her late grandfather left behind. No one has managed to open it, and her only clue is something he once told her: “Come back to this room once you’re grown up.”
At key moments, you take Horikawa’s role and piece together the solution yourself, making deduction part of how the story progresses.
A “Drama-Like Adventure” With a Voiced Cast
Shueisha Games and iMel describe the game as a “drama-like adventure,” pairing a novel’s reflective qualities with the presentation of a screen drama.
Kazuki Ura voices the trusting but observant Horikawa. Yuichiro Umehara plays his sardonic friend Matsukura, while Arisa Sakuraba voices Urakami, a former library committee member with a mischievous streak.
You can play the complete first chapter on Steam now.
