Airframe Ultra is available now on PC through Steam and GOG. Developed by Videocult, the studio behind Rain World, and published by Akupara Games, the hoverbike battle-racer sends players through Megacity West in pursuit of fame and a way out of life at the bottom.
Racing shares the track with close-range violence, giving you the option to boost past opponents or knock them out of contention. Split-screen and online multiplayer let you take that approach against friends and other racers.
Bring a Baseball Bat to a Hoverbike Race
In Airframe Ultra, you start among Megacity West’s squatters, smugglers, and thieves. A secondhand Airframe, custom modifications, and a heavy baseball bat provide your entry into the city’s racing scene.
The competition operates without referees or a rulebook. Pipes, chains, and plasma torches join the weapons available to racers, making combat part of the fight for position. Getting ahead means dealing with opponents who are just as willing to use force as speed.
The premise places racing as a rare opportunity for freedom in a city inhabited by billions. Your competitors come from across Megacity West, all chasing money, recognition, and the chance to win.
Race Across Megacity West
The setting spans several districts, each with its own identity. Slabtown contains rusting shipyards, while Vantac rises around sleek skyscrapers. Farther out are the dune dens of the Ysidro edgelands and the enormous arcologies of the Texicali Zego zone.
Together, those areas establish the city’s mix of advanced technology and street-level struggle. The game also lets you create your racer, putting personal appearance alongside the modifications that define your entry into the competition.
Challenge Friends Locally or Online
Airframe Ultra supports split-screen and online multiplayer. That gives you a choice between gathering around the same screen and taking your hoverbike into online matches.
The multiplayer focus brings the game’s speed and weapons into direct competition: every rival is another racer to pass, avoid, or hit before the finish.
