Nintendo has a new hardware reveal on the latest edition of Nintendo Direct. The company announced Nintendo 3DS XL, with 90% larger screens than the current iteration and better battery life than the original. It will come in red, blue colors initially along with a 4GB SD card to encourage purchases from the Nintendo Shop.
Nintendo 3DS XL will release August 19th for $199, the same day as the release for New Super Mario Bros 2. New Super Mario Bros 2 will feature a Gold power-up that allows Mario to turn obstacles into gold and a Coin Rush mode similar to time trial where the objective of the mode is to make it to the finish line the fastest. NSMB2 will be available via the eShop as well and promises DLC Coin Rush modes after release.
Bling, bling, Nintendo.
