If you saw the Sony Press Conference you’re sure to remember watching the PSP video and recalling Valkyria Chronicles in it, but wait! It’s not coming to the PSP, SEGA made sure Sony knew that after E3. It’s only one minor mistake, the PS3-exclusive still looks great.
Valkyria Chronicles is a Japanese Strategy RPG uses a strange – yet welcomed – new “Canvas Engine.” What is this “Canvas Engine?” Well, it gives the game this unique twist and lovable artistic style and feel to it, like a moving watercolour painting. It even adds a sort of sketched feel to it as well.
Sega Associate Producer Christopher Kaminski will show us how the game works out and your “fuel” you use to run around. Sort of like an action RPG, but once the gauge runs out, you stop there and it’s a freeroam, so no “block” movements.
This game looks great, the art style, the way they implemented free roam while still keeping that RPG style to it and the characters look like they’ll make a great storyline. Valkyria Chronicles is slated to release this November, so let’s hope it gets the attention it deserves!
