The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild E3 Trailer and Details

Nintendo released a new extensive trailer for the long-awaited Wii U Zelda game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The trailer gives players a deep look at some of the new tools and items that Link can use, such as an axe for chopping trees down, a spear to battle with, and a mystical object that can create blocks, and lift items into the air.

Some of the new mechanics include flying with a miniature hang-glider, cooking up items using materials found in the world, taming horses, and climbing up the sides of mountains. A small voiced narration is also included in the trailer, which is new for The Legend of Zelda series.

A more in-depth look at the trailer and gameplay showcase reveals that Hyrule is in a state of ruin after being abandoned for currently unknown reasons. The game has a clock system displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen that displays the game’s time, which changes the enormous environment around you. Link also has numerous different outfits, such as knight armor, and a short-sleeved green tunic.

A large number of items can be picked up, ranging from tree branches to axes. This lets players use far more weapons than previous Zelda games did.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be released for the Wii U and Nintendo NX in March of 2017. For more information, check out the trailer above.
