Publisher Nacon and developer Rogue Factor are offering players a first taste of their unique action-adventure title Hell Is Us with a free demo available now on Steam. The demo, which includes the game’s full opening chapter, will be playable until June 16 and will also be featured during Steam Next Fest starting June 9.
The full game will launch on September 4, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Discover a World Without Mini-Maps or Markers
Hell Is Us introduces players to “player-plattering,” a gameplay philosophy that strips away conventional navigation tools like mini-maps, GPS systems, and quest markers. Instead, the game challenges players to trust their instincts, observe their surroundings, and engage in brutal melee combat to survive and progress.
The goal is to recapture the feeling of classic adventure games, where immersion and personal discovery take precedence over hand-holding and waypoint chasing.
What’s in the Demo
Available now on Steam, the demo includes the entire first chapter of Hell Is Us, offering approximately 90 minutes of gameplay. Players will step into the shoes of Rémi, a man on a journey to uncover his origins in a nation torn apart by civil war and haunted by mysterious otherworldly creatures.
For the curious and observant, the demo also hides secrets and deeper lore that hint at the full game’s narrative layers.
Monsters, Mystery, and Melee Combat
Set in an isolated country plunged into conflict, Hell Is Us weaves its narrative around both human tragedy and supernatural horror. The land is crawling with strange entities that resemble ancient tombstones and relics, and only specially forged weapons can deal with them.
Combat is intimate and intense, demanding precision and timing, while exploration rewards keen observation over brute force.
Full Launch in September
The full release of Hell Is Us arrives September 4, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. With its fresh take on exploration and storytelling, the game promises a memorable adventure for fans of immersive, narrative-rich experiences.
You can download the demo now on Steam and dive into a dark and intriguing world where guidance is internal, and every decision matters.
