Vindictus: Defying Fate, the upcoming action RPG from Nexon, has officially launched its public alpha test on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest. Running from June 8 through June 16, the test offers fans a hands-on look at the game’s fast-paced, skill-heavy combat and newly added multiplayer, character customization, and story content.
Developed as a spiritual successor to the original Vindictus, Defying Fate leans into a more hardcore action RPG style where combat is punishing, precise, and highly technical. From dodging with perfect timing to countering with bone-crunching finishers, players will need real skill—and nerves—to survive.

Game Director Dongseok Oh thanked the community for its support since the pre-alpha in 2024, emphasizing that this new alpha is a critical milestone shaped by fan feedback.

Dive into the role of a Kalbram Mercenary investigating twisted ruins and locked in conflict with the Royal Knights’ Gwynn. New areas like Hoarfrost Hollow and Colhen Village deepen the worldbuilding. - 4-Player Co-op Boss Hunts
Team up with up to three other players (via auto-matchmaking only) to take on powerful bosses—or tackle them solo if you dare. These monsters don’t go down easily.
