Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian Launches Sept. 26 with New Combat and Synthesis Features

During a special livestream at Bilibili World, Koei Tecmo and Gust unveiled new gameplay mechanics for the upcoming RPG Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian, launching September 26, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The game is being treated as the next official mainline entry in the series (Atelier 25), and not a spin-off, tying directly into the events of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator.

New Story, Same World

Set after the events of the previous Resleriana mobile title, The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian follows two new protagonists, Rias Eidreise and Slade Clauslyter, as they journey through the Lantarna continent. Along the way, players will encounter both new and returning characters from across the franchise, including Secret series favorites Ryza and Klaudia, and Ayesha from the Dusk series.

Turn-Based Combat and Unite System

Koei Tecmo also detailed the new battle system, which includes turn manipulation mechanics and a powerful Unite Gauge. Players can activate Multi-Actions with support characters, stringing up to three moves in a row, and trigger a Unite Attack when two front-row characters act consecutively. Fill the Unite Gauge completely and unleash a Unite Burst — a powerful barrage of turns for all front-row characters.

Item use is also strategically enhanced through the Item Mix mechanic, which adds extra effects when using two or more items consecutively during multi-skills.

Refined Synthesis, Recipe Morphing, and Fairies

Synthesis returns with a Gift Color system that determines which traits are added to your item, and “Catalyst Ingredients” can dramatically shift recipes in mid-creation. Using Recipe Morphs and support from team members or fairies, players can create unique, high-level items with enhanced effects.

You’ll also explore randomly generated dungeons called Dimensional Paths, with difficulty settings that affect ingredients, enemies, and rewards. Recruited fairies can assist in synthesis or run the Mistletoe Miscellaneous shop.

A Fully Offline Atelier Experience

Unlike the previous Resleriana game, this entry is a standalone, offline experience. No gacha mechanics or internet connection are required (except for updates). It features Japanese voice acting with English text and will launch physically and digitally on September 26, 2025. Early buyers will receive bonus adventuring outfits and charms for Rias and Slade.
