The Player Who Can’t Level Up Game Announced for 2026 – Coming to PS5, Xbox Series, and PC

One of the world’s biggest webtoons is leveling up to a full-scale video game. The Player Who Can’t Level Up is officially being adapted into a high-impact, third-person action roguelite game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a global launch planned for 2026. Developed by Tripearl Games, the upcoming title features all-new story content created in collaboration with the original creators of the hit web novel and webtoon.

Already a global phenomenon with over 210 million views across Kakao Page, Piccoma, and Tapas, The Player Who Can’t Level Up introduces players to Kim Kigyu, a mysterious “Player” who, despite awakening his powers, cannot level up. Instead, progression in the game is based on strategic builds, player adaptation, and fast-paced skill combat—rather than traditional grinding.

Evolve, Don’t Grind

Unlike most RPGs, The Player Who Can’t Level Up throws out the XP bar. Instead, players evolve through Ego Shards (persistent abilities) and Blessings (random perks), offering different synergy possibilities with each run. Think Hades meets Devil May Cry — with a high-skill ceiling and rogue mechanics that reward quick thinking over number crunching.

The game’s powered by Unreal Engine 5, giving it a bold, stylized look that mirrors the webtoon’s art while delivering zero loading screens and complete camera freedom. Battles will be fluid, cinematic, and responsive, with combos that grow in complexity as you master each run.

Key Features

  • Stylish Combat – Regular, berserk, and awakening swordplay with powerful visual flair
  • Roguelite Progression – Strategic evolution through randomized perks and unlockable synergies
  • A New Narrative – Crafted alongside the original webtoon team, with fresh lore and familiar faces like Lu and El
  • Expansive Universe – Explore an entirely new arc within the The Player Who Can’t Level Up timeline
  • Built for Replayability – Every run is different, with randomized paths, abilities, and bosses
  • Unreal Engine 5 Power – High-end visuals, smooth animations, and fast loading across all platforms

“We wanted to challenge how players think about progression,” said Manson Jeong, CEO of Tripearl Games. “In The Player Who Can’t Level Up, improvement comes from strategy, not stats — from learning and adapting, not grinding.”

The Player Who Can’t Level Up is slated for release in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
