Batman is back in bricks. At Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, DC, and The LEGO Group officially revealed LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, an expansive new LEGO action-adventure spanning the full history of the Caped Crusader across comics, films, television, and games. Launching in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, the game promises a definitive LEGO Batman story, fused with TT Games’ signature humor.
An Epic Batman Story, Reimagined in LEGO
The campaign begins with a young Bruce Wayne training under the League of Shadows and follows his transformation into Gotham’s protector. Along the way, players will team up with iconic allies such as Jim Gordon, Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul, while facing down the Dark Knight’s most infamous Rogues Gallery, including The Joker, Penguin, Poison Ivy, Bane, and Ra’s al Ghul.
DC’s Jim Lee praised the project as a “love letter to Batman’s legacy,” while TT Games’ Jonathan Smith described it as a fresh, celebratory take on the mythos.
Dynamic Combat Meets LEGO Humor
Unlike previous LEGO titles, Legacy of the Dark Knight introduces a new crime-fighting combat system built around Batman’s signature fighting style. Expect fluid combos, counters, and cinematic takedowns, plus gadgets like the Batarang and Batclaw.
Partner characters wield their own unique tools: Jim Gordon’s foam sprayer, Robin’s line launcher, and Catwoman’s whip, giving players more options to strategize in both solo and two-player co-op.
For veterans, TT Games has added an enhanced Caped Crusader difficulty and an even tougher Dark Knight mode for the most dedicated fans.
Explore Gotham Like Never Before
Gotham City itself is an open-world LEGO playground packed with crimes to stop, puzzles to solve, collectibles to uncover, and Easter eggs to discover across alleys, rooftops, and hidden corners. Players can glide across skyscrapers, grapple through alleyways, and tear through streets in multiple Batmobiles and Batcycles.
The Batcave serves as a customizable hub, displaying trophies, vehicles, and unlockable Batsuits inspired by Batman’s 86-year history. Signing up for a WB Games account unlocks the Golden Age Batsuit from Detective Comics #27 (1939).
