One More Game has announced that its bizarre and hilarious co-op roguelite shooter, Swapmeat, will officially launch in Early Access on October 21, 2025, for PC and macOS via Steam. Before then, players can try the game for free in a brand-new demo during Steam Next Fest, running from October 13 to 20.
In Swapmeat, up to four players fight through chaotic alien worlds, swapping body parts with defeated enemies to gain their powers in a constantly mutating battle for survival.
Early Access and Founder’s Edition Details
When Swapmeat launches in Early Access, players can grab the Founder’s Edition for $24.99, which includes:
- Two copies of the game for instant co-op play
- An exclusive cosmetic pack featuring a Golden Spatula, “Carl’s Original Golden” antenna ball, and the “Alt Comedian Connor O’Malley” head
- Access to the game’s soundtrack B-Sides
- Early preview access to an upcoming solar system before its official release
Those who pick up the Founder’s Edition will also retain their progress as Swapmeat evolves through Early Access toward its full release.
Steam Next Fest Demo
The upcoming Steam Next Fest demo gives players one final chance to experience Swapmeat before launch. Featuring solo and four-player co-op, the demo drops players into the Jangus System, a solar system of three chaotic worlds: Scurvion Alpha, Barbecunis, and Calypso, each packed with bizarre alien creatures and hazards.
Players will battle through waves of enemies, complete Prime Directives, and face the system’s final boss, Franken Beans, in a fight for survival (and for science).
The demo caps player level progression at 10, but progress carries over to the full game. Those who play during Steam Next Fest can also earn the exclusive “Quack Ops” Cosmetic Set, featuring rubber duck-themed gear only available during the event.
Rip, Swap, and Mutate to Survive
Swapmeat’s signature “rip-and-swap” system lets players replace their limbs, torsos, and heads with those of fallen enemies mid-combat, unlocking new abilities and powers on the fly. Combine these abilities with upgradable gear, escalating difficulty tiers, and unpredictable events to survive against the odds.
The game’s controller support, quick install size (2.56GB), and streamlined tutorial make it easy for new players to join in on the meat-slinging madness.
Play the Demo and Join the Crew
The Swapmeat demo goes live from October 13 to 20 as part of Steam Next Fest, with a full Early Access launch on October 21, 2025.
