Developer Sparrow Night and publisher Twin Sails Interactive have announced that the full 1.0 release of their 1930s newsroom management sim will now arrive on Steam on November 18, 2025, two weeks later than previously planned.
While the game’s 1.0 content is already complete and stable, the team is choosing to give News Tower its own moment to shine amid a packed fall release calendar. Alongside the new release date, Sparrow Night has unveiled a “Behind the Music” featurette highlighting the game’s live-recorded big-band jazz soundtrack, inspired by the golden era of swing.
Setting the Right Rhythm: Jazz, Headlines, and Gameplay
Set in a bustling 1930s New York newsroom, News Tower tasks players with building their own media empire from the ground up, balancing the art of the scoop, the politics of influence, and the chaos of the press floor. Its authentic jazz score, recorded with members of the New Cool Collective, channels the era’s energy with compositions inspired by legends like Duke Ellington and Count Basie.
Composer Bart van de Sande describes the soundtrack as “a living rhythm that mirrors the tension and tempo of editorial life,” dynamically responding to in-game pacing and decisions.
Hot Off the Press: What’s New in the 1.0 Update
