Midgar Studios, which put out Edge of Eternity in 2018, released a new story trailer for their follow-up game, Edge of Memories, at the Galaxies Gaming Showcase today. The third-person action RPG is aiming for a 2026 release.
In the story trailer, we get to see some of the characters, the conflict, and the world of Heryon.
The world of Heryon has long been ravaged by the Corrosion, a blight that transforms both wildlife and humans into monstrosities. On the continent of Avaris, nomadic people once spared from this horror now face extinction. Eline, a young wandering Soul Whisperer, travels across the wild lands to aid suffering, but her fate changes drastically when she discovers within herself a power born of the Corrosion. This gift allows her to transform into the Black Beast, unleashing devastating force and chaining together ruthless executions against her enemies.
Their epic odyssey will take them across Avaris, where sinister foes await: Ziegler, a mysterious figure wielding power also tied to the Corrosion, and the Apex, a divine emissary claiming to see both the future and the past. They will also face the Sanctorium, a merciless religious and magical order whose authority dominates Avaris. Obsessed with cruel experiments on the Corrosion, they exploit human test subjects desperate to escape their people’s despair.

Edge of Memories offers players a brand-new adventure, accessible to both longtime fans and newcomers alike, blending the richness of the JRPG tradition with a unique artistic touch inspired by French animation.
Edge of Memories has no official release date yet, but Midgar Studio is aiming for a 2026 release window. Edge of Memories will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
