Annapurna Interactive and Iridium Studios took center stage during today’s Day of the Devs showcase to premiere a brand-new trailer for People of Note, the upcoming turn-based RPG musical where storytelling, combat, and character arcs all unfold through fully choreographed musical performances. The highlight of the showcase was a full in-game number titled “Under the Lights”, performed by the game’s heroine, Cadence.
A Fully Playable Musical Number Led by a Star Duo
Cadence, the game’s lead character, is brought to life through a rare dual-actor performance. Her speaking role is handled by Heather Gonzalez, whose grounded delivery anchors Cadence’s struggles and growth. Her singing voice is performed by pop artist LEXXE, whose powerhouse vocals elevate the showcased musical number into a full theatrical centerpiece.
In “Under the Lights,” players get a deeper look at how People of Note merges musical theater with interactive storytelling. The scene builds from narrative setup to a sweeping performance, blending cinematic staging with a peek at the game’s rhythm-driven mechanical structure.
A Turn-Based RPG Where Combat Is Music
Beyond the theatrics, People of Note features a combat system that is fully synchronized with the music. Battles are built around interactive, rhythmic sequences in which players demonstrate musical abilities, chain vocal or instrumental “skills,” and respond to cues in time with the soundtrack. Every encounter plays like a hybrid between a traditional RPG and a playable musical number part strategy, part performance, all uniquely stylized.
The story spans multiple countries and cultures, told through large-scale set pieces that blend fully choreographed musical sequences with character-driven drama. As Cadence and her fellow performers confront rising global tensions, their songs become both narrative centerpiece and mechanical expression.
Coming to PC and Consoles in 2026
Developed by Iridium Studios, People of Note will launch digitally in 2026 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S & Windows.
More details, additional songs, and deeper gameplay reveals are expected as the game approaches release.
