Dead Pets: A Punk Rock Slice of Life Sim Launches on PC February 6, 2026

Akupara Games has announced that Dead Pets: A Punk Rock Slice of Life Sim will officially launch on February 6, 2026, bringing a loud, messy, and unapologetic take on adulthood to PC. A new release date trailer sets the tone for a game that embraces chaos, bad decisions, and punk rock attitude in equal measure.

A Demon’s Life in New Void City

Players step into the battered boots of Gordy, a 30-something demon fronting a struggling punk band while barely keeping her life together in New Void City. Between band practice, soul-crushing day jobs, unreliable friends, predatory landlords, and romantic misfires, Dead Pets paints a darkly comedic picture of modern survival where success is fleeting, and failure is constant.

The game leans heavily into surreal exaggeration, exploring Gordy’s spiral through adulthood with sharp writing and absurd scenarios that feel uncomfortably relatable.

Minigames, Music, and Managing the Mess

Dead Pets blends narrative-driven storytelling with management-lite systems, rhythm gameplay, and a barrage of unpredictable minigames. Players will juggle Gordy’s wellbeing, finances, social standing, and band morale, knowing that every choice has consequences, often hilarious, sometimes painful.

Minigames range from diner shifts and plant care to wildly unhinged activities that reinforce the game’s punk sensibility. At its core, it’s about deciding whether Gordy’s mistakes remain humiliations or evolve into conscious, defiant choices.

A Punk Rock Heart and Killer Soundtrack

Music plays a central role in Dead Pets. The game features an original punk rock EP, performed during gameplay, and a rhythm-focused experience that lets players shred alongside Gordy’s band. Jukebox Mode expands the soundtrack further with crossover tracks from other Akupara titles, giving rhythm game fans plenty to sink their teeth into.

Visually and tonally, the game draws inspiration from animated series like BoJack Horseman and Tuca & Bertie, blending cartoonish style with raw, adult themes.

Demo Available Now Ahead of February Launch

Players can wishlist Dead Pets: A Punk Rock Slice of Life Sim and try the demo now on Steam ahead of its February 6 release. With its feminist edge, abrasive humor, and refusal to romanticize stability, Dead Pets looks ready to flip off normalcy and invite players to fail loudly—on their own terms.
