Nexon has opened sign-ups for the first Closed Online Test for MapleStory Classic World, inviting players to revisit the nostalgic roots of MapleStory. Applications for the global test are available now and will remain open until April 7.
The upcoming test will run from April 16 through April 23, giving selected players an early opportunity to explore the classic version of Maple World while providing feedback that will help shape the final release.
Returning to the Original MapleStory Experience
MapleStory Classic World aims to recreate the experience of the original MapleStory era, focusing on the early progression and iconic content that defined the game for longtime fans.
Unlike previous demos that showcased higher-level gameplay, this Closed Online Test will allow players to begin their adventure from the start, experiencing the nostalgic progression and exploration that characterized the MMORPG’s early days.
Feedback gathered during the test will play a major role in refining gameplay balance, server performance, and overall design ahead of launch.
Built With Community Feedback
The upcoming test follows several earlier play sessions, including a pair of in-person events in Los Angeles earlier this year. Those events drew more than 1,900 players, offering the development team valuable insights into how the classic experience resonated with fans.
Additional feedback was also gathered during earlier demonstrations at MapleCon LA 2025 and local PC café events. According to Nexon, this feedback has already been used to adjust gameplay features and improve the latest build of MapleStory Classic World.
A newly released development recap video also highlights moments from these early playtests and community events, showcasing how player reactions have helped shape the project so far.
How to Participate in the Closed Online Test
The Closed Online Test is open to players with new or existing Nexon accounts in regions where Global MapleStory is currently supported. Participants will be selected through a combination of guaranteed access and random selection.
Players who previously participated in the MapleCon LA playtest, or earlier Los Angeles PC café events, will receive guaranteed entry and early access to the test build. Remaining slots will be filled by randomly selected applicants.
Those chosen to participate will receive instructions via their registered Nexon email explaining how to download the game client.
Players interested in joining the test can sign up now through the official MapleStory website before the April 7 deadline.
