Publisher Team17 and Swedish indie developer Wych Elm< have released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming survival horror title Silver Pines, offering a deeper look at its eerie setting and tense gameplay. The game is currently slated to launch in 2026 on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.
The latest footage introduces players to the unsettling town of Silver Pines, where a missing persons case soon spirals into a far darker mystery.
A Detective Lost in a Haunted Town
In Silver Pines, players take on the role of Red Walker, a private investigator who awakens in the seemingly abandoned town after arriving to investigate the disappearance of a musician named Eddie Velvet. What begins as a straightforward case quickly turns into something far more disturbing as fragments of the town’s past begin to surface.
As Walker explores the area, clues scattered throughout the environment gradually reveal the truth behind Silver Pines and the strange forces that haunt it. The investigation leads the detective down a nightmarish path as the town’s secrets slowly emerge.
Classic Survival Horror With Exploration
Silver Pines draws strong inspiration from classic survival horror games, emphasizing resource management and careful exploration. Ammunition is limited, inventory space is restricted, and players must constantly decide whether to confront enemies or avoid them entirely.
Exploration plays a major role as well, with the town featuring interconnected areas reminiscent of Metroidvania-style progression. Locked doors, hidden pathways, and new tools gradually open additional parts of the map, encouraging players to revisit locations as they uncover new clues and equipment.
