Well, the rumors are no longer rumors that the 360 is getting a price cut to $299, everyone’s putting it in their magazines and discounts and all. But will Sony do the same for the PS3? No, of course not, here’s what Chief Financial Officer Nobuyuki Oneda had to say,
‘Our strategy is not to sell more quantity for PS3 but to concentrate on profitability,’ Oneda told investors at a Nomura Asia Equity forum in Singapore. ‘Our plan is not to reduce the price.’
So pretty much they still need to get back from the loss of selling the PS3’s to us at a cheap price, lowering the price won’t help, but getting other profitable features and games will help no doubt. So for now, sit tight and enjoy E3.
