Konami Opening Studio in San Francisco

The folks over at Konami are opening a new development studio in the San Francisco area that will focus on developing mobile and social games.

Konami hopes the studio will bring engaging experiences to their fans on social and mobile platforms. The studio will also work on expanding Konami’s social connectivity.

“The new development studio exemplifies our commitment to providing consumers with high quality social and mobile gaming experiences,” said Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. in a news release.

Konami has released several mobile and social games prior to the new San Francisco studio, including Frogger Pinball, Puzzle Crashers, Twilight Carnival and more. The new studio is currently working on new titles, but is not ready to talk about them yet.

“So our studios here are working on some games on both mobile and social mobile platforms,” said John S. Coligan, Director of Digital Publishing, during Konami’s pre-E3 showcase on Thursday night. “Our audience can be very excited about what’s coming out in the coming months.”
