World of Tanks: Heat will enter closed beta from April 16 through April 20, Wargaming announced. The new standalone free-to-play tactical vehicle shooter will be playable across PC via Steam and Wargaming Game Center, Steam Deck, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nvidia GeForce Now.
Set in an alternate post-World War II era, World of Tanks: Heat reworks the series’ armored combat around faster-paced battlefields, experimental tanks, and playable Agents with their own unique abilities.
Closed beta includes tanks, Agents, and four PvP modes
During the beta, players will be able to try a lineup of tanks and Agents built around three roles: Defender, Assault, and Marksman. Each vehicle can be customized with different weapon systems, armor modules, and visual upgrades.
The closed beta will feature four PvP modes spread across eight maps. These include Hardpoint, a 5v5 mode built around capturing and defending shifting objectives, Control, a 5v5 mode focused on holding a single zone, and Kill Confirmed, where teams score by collecting tokens dropped by defeated enemies while also denying points by recovering allied tokens.
The beta will also include Conquest, a 10v10 mode with larger teams and multiple capture points.
Full cross-play and cross-progression planned
Wargaming says World of Tanks: Heat is powered by the company’s new proprietary engine and is being built with full cross-platform play and cross-progression across all supported platforms.
Players interested in joining the closed beta can sign up now ahead of the April 16 start date.
