King Art Games has announced that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV will now launch on December 3, 2026.
Players who pick up the Commander Edition will get a 3-Day Early Unlock starting November 30. Both editions are available to pre-order now with a 10% discount.
More Time for Polish
The studio says the extra time will go toward performance optimization, bug fixes, and final polish before launch.
Creative Director Jan Theysen said the team saw an opportunity late in development to improve the experience and deliver the version of Dawn of War IV they had planned.
More Updates Coming Before Launch
Development is still moving forward, with more Battlefield Reports, gameplay showcases, and developer deep dives planned over the next few months.
King Art Games also released an updated Year One roadmap to match the new launch date, though exact dates for post-launch content will be shared later.
Year One Plans Include Crusade Mode
After launch, Dawn of War IV will receive free updates that bring back Crusade Mode.
The Year One plan also includes new maps, modes, Commanders, and the Mission Editor. Two major story expansions are also planned, with the conflict on Kronus set to grow and a new playable faction coming to the battlefield.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV launches December 3, with Commander Edition players starting November 30.
