Amazon Game Studios and Crystal Dynamics have released the fifth Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis mini-documentary, this time focused on the puzzles and traps Lara Croft will face in the upcoming reimagining of her 1996 debut.
The episode looks at how Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog approached one of the original Tomb Raider’s core strengths: making players think through spaces, danger, and hidden logic.
Updating Classic Tomb Raider Challenges
The new mini-documentary centers on how the teams kept the spirit of the original game’s puzzles while updating them for modern players.
Rather than treating puzzles as isolated obstacles, the developers discuss how level design and setting work together to shape Lara’s challenges. The goal is to create moments that stick with players after they solve them.
Deadly Traps Return
The episode also touches on the traps Lara will need to survive during her search.
For a Tomb Raider reimagining, that matters. The original game built much of its tension around reading the space, spotting danger, and committing to movement under pressure. Legacy of Atlantis appears to carry that same idea forward in a modern presentation.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is being developed by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog.
