Top Hat Studios and developer Kyle Thompson have released Well Dweller today for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, and GOG.
The hand-drawn dark fairy-tale search-action adventure is also available through Xbox Game Pass.
Glimmer Takes on a Wicked Queen
Players control Glimmer, a tiny bird armed with a matchstick.
After his siblings are taken from their nest, Glimmer sets out to stop a wicked queen before his family becomes part of her royal gown.
The story sends him through a twisted fairy-tale kingdom filled with dangerous creatures, strange characters, and clues about what happened to the queendom.
New Abilities Open More Paths
Glimmer gains abilities throughout the game that expand his movement and combat options.
Those skills also let players reach previously inaccessible sections of the interconnected map, where they can find powerful trinkets, optional areas, and additional story details.
Players will also meet allies trying to survive under the queen’s rule.

Well Dweller comes from solo developer Kyle Thompson, whose previous games include Crypt Custodian and Islets.
The project uses a hand-drawn storybook presentation alongside combat, exploration, puzzles, and ability-based progression.
