Raw Power Games has released the first gameplay trailer for Chronicles: Medieval, its upcoming medieval sandbox action game set during the Hundred Years’ War.
Revealed during Summer Game Fest, the trailer shows large-scale battles captured directly from the game and confirms the Holy Roman Empire as the third playable faction alongside England and France.
Fight Across Medieval Europe
Chronicles: Medieval drops players into a historically grounded version of medieval Europe, covering the British Isles, France, and the Holy Roman Empire.
Players begin with nothing and work to build a name through combat, alliances, army recruitment, and reputation. The goal is to leave a mark on a world shaped by war, politics, and shifting power.
Command Armies While Fighting Beside Them
The combat system lets players act as both commander and frontline fighter.
Players can issue real-time orders to longbowmen, cavalry, crossbowmen, and men-at-arms while staying in the fight themselves. You can position a flank, order a charge, then draw your weapon and enter melee combat directly.
Each unit type fills a different role, making battles rely on both tactical planning and personal skill.
Three Playable Factions Confirmed
Raw Power Games confirmed that the Holy Roman Empire will join England and France as a fully playable faction.
Each faction will feature distinct units, strategic options, and a different view of medieval Europe, giving players several ways to approach the sandbox.
The new trailer is narrated by Danish actor Lars Mikkelsen, known for The Witcher, House of Cards, and Frankenstein.
Early Access Coming in 2026
Chronicles: Medieval is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and Raw Power Games’ proprietary Asgard technology.
The game will launch in Early Access on PC via Steam later this year. Raw Power Games plans to expand the world, deepen its systems, support modding, and shape the road to 1.0 with community feedback.
