Paramount Games has revealed the final fighters joining Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, rounding out the 1v1 fighter’s 12-character launch roster ahead of its July 23 release.
The reveal came during a livestream hosted by Maximilian Dood, which included a closer look at Zaheer and confirmed Ozai, Avatar Aang, and Nightmare Korra as the final roster additions.
Zaheer Leads the New Reveals
Zaheer, the Red Lotus anarchist from The Legend of Korra, brings his gravity-defying fighting style to the roster. His reveal trailer gives players a look at how his movement and airbending shape his approach in battle.
He joins a roster built around martial arts combat and characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.
Ozai, Avatar Aang, and Nightmare Korra Join the Fight
Ozai enters as the self-crowned Phoenix King, using firebending and fear to control the fight.
Avatar Aang brings his playful monk background into battle, while his Avatar State taps into the power of past Avatars for a much stronger form.
Nightmare Korra represents Korra’s darkest emotional state, shaped by guilt, pain, and trauma. Her inclusion gives the roster a more twisted take on the Avatar’s power.
New Dev Diary Goes Behind the Roster
A new developer diary also looks at how the team built the roster. Gameplay Group International Founder and CCO Victor Lugo, Paramount Games Creative Executive Dominick Cuccurullo, and Avatar: The Last Airbender co-creator Michael DiMartino discuss character selection, balance, and fan expectations.
