Joe Yu Studio and Red Dunes Games have released a new Katuba’s Poacher trailer, giving players another look at the cartoon-inspired action roguelite ahead of its Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show appearances.
Solo creator Joe Yu developed the game, which is planned for PC and consoles.
Boss Fights Set to Swing Jazz
Katuba’s Poacher puts music at the center of its boss battles.
Each boss has its own swing-jazz theme, with attack patterns synced to the rhythm. That turns fights into staged performances where timing, movement, and reaction speed matter as much as raw damage.
Cartoon Action With Fast Combat
The new trailer highlights the game’s hand-drawn 2D style, fast movement, and responsive combat.
Players will hunt monsters, collect traits, forge weapons, and return to each run with stronger builds. Boss fights can also shift through new music, visuals, and mechanics as battles progress.
Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show Appearances
Katuba’s Poacher will be shown at Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show next month.
The trailer gives attendees and action roguelite fans a clearer look at what to expect from its rhythmic combat, boss design, and cartoon presentation.
